The Lead Pharmacist is responsible for the daily operational management of a specific pharmacy area The Lead Pharmacist may direct the work of pharmacists, technicians and/or other employees The Lead Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring optimum customer service Under the direction of the Director of Ambulatory Pharmacy, the Lead Pharmacist engages in activities that maintain the integrity of the specific pharmacy area and allow the pharmacy to adjust to business or other operational changes The Lead Pharmacist is also able to function competently as a staff pharmacist. Must be l icensed as a pharmacist in the state of California A Doctor of Pharmacy is preferred ASHP accredited Residency in Pharmacy practice and significant acute care hospital experience (or equivalent education and experience) is preferred A m inimum of 5 years of experience as a pharmacist in a busy retail or hospital outpatient pharmacy that utilizes a computer system for the processing of prescriptions and billing of insurances is required. Must have w orking knowledge of the business aspects of a pharmacy computer system (running reports, third party billing, system maintenance). Experience in pharmacy supervision is preferred. Must be a ble to stand for up to 10 hours a day, a ble to type at least 30 WPM with accuracy, and able to communicate effectively with patients and health care workers. Must also be a ble to lift up to 20 lbs.
